Nancy O'Dell's initial job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance when it comes to DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to examine. This led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell won her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media.
